Custom desk day 1

I started a custom desk yesterday and decided to take pictures of the process. The desk will be 60"x35" with 2 drawers. Yesterday I picked up the material and started cutting out the top of the desk.

started out with a 4x8 sheet a oak plywood

cut it down to 35x60

cut out a littl indention so its not a boring rectangle and rounded off the edges next step is to router the edges

Sand casted heart

I decided to do an experiment with sand casting and treat it as I do with cuttlefish and carve a design into, instead of doing all the steps your supposed to do.

Unicorn

I was asked to make a unicorn necklace for a little girls 10th birthday. I was given a drawing the little girl did and made a pendant to replicate it. The unicorn is sterling silver and the eye is a 2mm aquamarine stone.

Custom Heart

I made a custom heart for my wife using cuttlefish. I had our 3 year old draw a heart and then I shrunk it down to the right size and carved it out of the cuttlefish bone. I also carved my sons name into the back. I did some experimenting with the casting thats why the back looks the way it does.
